Privacy Policy

How ActivateDeals handles information when you visit the site or sign up for deal alerts. Short version: we collect very little, we never touch payment data, and we don't sell anything about you.

Last updated: 24 August 2026

The important part first. ActivateDeals does not sell products and does not operate a checkout. We never collect, process or store payment card numbers, bank details or billing information — not in any form, at any time. Every purchase happens on the retailer's own website under their systems and their privacy policy.

1. Who we are

ActivateDeals ("ActivateDeals", "we", "us" or "our") operates the website at activatedeals.com, where we publish daily deals, discount codes and offer round-ups. This Privacy Policy explains what information we handle when you use the site, why we handle it, and what control you have over it.

By using activatedeals.com you agree to the practices described here. If you don't agree, please stop using the site. This policy sits alongside our Terms of Use.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you give us voluntarily

  • Email address — if you subscribe to deal alerts or our newsletter.
  • Contact details and message content — if you email us or use the contact form. This typically means your name, email address and whatever you choose to write.
  • Deal submissions — links, codes and notes you send us about an offer.
  • Category preferences — if you tell us which types of deals you want alerts about.

All of this is optional. You can browse the entire site without providing any of it.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our servers and analytics tools may record limited technical information:

  • IP address (often truncated or anonymised by our analytics provider)
  • Browser type and version, operating system and device type
  • Pages viewed, time on page and the order pages were visited in
  • The referring website or link that brought you here
  • Approximate location at country or city level, derived from IP
  • Date and time of your visit

We use this in aggregate to understand which deals and categories are useful, to spot broken pages, and to protect the site against abuse. We do not use it to build detailed personal profiles.

3. What we never collect

To be explicit, ActivateDeals does not collect, request, process or store:

  • Credit or debit card numbers, CVV codes or expiry dates
  • Bank account, IBAN, routing or payment app details
  • Billing or shipping addresses
  • Passwords or login credentials for any retailer, bank or third-party account
  • Government identification numbers, passport or driving licence details
  • Health, biometric or other special-category personal data

We have no shopping cart and no payment processor. If any website, email or message claiming to be ActivateDeals ever asks you for payment or login details, it is not us — please report it to info@activatedeals.com.

4. How we use information

We use the limited information described above to:

  • Send the deal alerts or newsletters you asked for
  • Reply to your questions, tips, corrections and partnership enquiries
  • Verify submitted deals and follow up if we need more detail
  • Measure which content is useful and improve the site's structure and speed
  • Detect, prevent and investigate spam, scraping, fraud and security incidents
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use

Where the law requires a lawful basis (for example under the UK GDPR or EU GDPR), we rely on your consent for marketing emails and non-essential cookies, and on our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving the site for everything else.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We may use:

  • Essential cookies — needed for the site to load and function correctly.
  • Preference cookies — remembering choices such as a dismissed banner.
  • Analytics cookies — anonymous or aggregated statistics on how the site is used.
  • Affiliate tracking cookies — set by affiliate networks when you click an outbound deal link, so that a resulting purchase can be credited to us.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Blocking analytics or affiliate cookies will not stop you from using the site or from getting the deal — it only affects measurement and our commission.

6. Affiliate links and tracking

Some outbound links on ActivateDeals are affiliate links. When you click one, the retailer or an affiliate network may place a cookie or use a tracking parameter to record that the visit came from us. If you go on to buy something, we may receive a small commission — you pay exactly the same price either way.

We do not receive your name, address, payment details or a list of what you bought. At most we see anonymised, aggregated reporting such as the number of clicks and a total commission figure. Once you click through, the retailer's own privacy policy governs what happens on their site.

7. Third-party services

We rely on a small number of reputable providers to run the site — for example web hosting and content delivery, website analytics, email newsletter delivery, and affiliate networks. These providers only handle information as needed to deliver their service to us, and are required to keep it confidential.

Our site may also embed links to social platforms or external pages. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of any third-party website. We encourage you to read their policies.

8. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share information only:

  • With service providers acting on our behalf, as described above
  • When you have asked or agreed to it
  • Where required by law, court order or a valid request from a public authority
  • To establish, exercise or defend legal claims, or to protect the rights and safety of our users
  • To a successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets — with notice to you and no reduction of the protections in this policy

9. Data retention

We keep newsletter subscriptions until you unsubscribe, and for a short period afterwards to make sure the unsubscribe sticks. Contact-form messages and emails are kept for as long as needed to resolve the matter and for a reasonable record afterwards. Aggregated analytics may be retained indefinitely because it no longer identifies anyone.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out
  • Receive a copy of your information in a portable format
  • Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — note that we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under laws such as the CCPA/CPRA

To exercise any of these, email info@activatedeals.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Unsubscribing: every marketing email carries a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also simply reply and ask us to remove you.

11. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the limited information we hold, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access, and keeping our systems updated. The fact that we deliberately collect so little — and no payment data at all — is itself a significant safeguard.

No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach ever affected your information, we would notify you and the relevant authorities where the law requires it.

12. Children's privacy

ActivateDeals is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

13. International visitors

We may process and store information on servers located in countries other than your own. Where information is transferred internationally, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in line with applicable data protection law, including using providers that offer recognised safeguards.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The "last updated" date at the top will always show the current version. Material changes will be highlighted on the site. Continuing to use activatedeals.com after an update means you accept the revised policy.

15. Contact us

Questions, requests or complaints about privacy? Email info@activatedeals.com and we'll respond as quickly as we can — normally within two business days, and in any case within the timeframe the law requires.

If you are in the UK, EU or another region with a data protection authority, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local regulator.
